    • I learned just yesterday that David passed away on June 30. I've not seen or talked with him for years--decades, really. Growing up in Rochester, we were the greatest of friends well into our high school days. We shared almost everything, including music. Quite literally, we grew up playing music together. David, I think, was always a level above me on that score (as well as several others); as the video indicates, he truly loved music and loved playing it. If not a virtuoso, he certainly was close.

I'm so happy to see this short clip of him. It's a fine tribute to a truly wonderful human being.

    • In July 2011, David McGee passed away at age 53. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend and musician. He was the most interesting, creative, deeply spiritual and gentle man I have ever known. We will miss his energy, his voice, his spirit, his presence...and of course his music.

    • This guy is awesome. It's great to see people doing what they love every day. Busking is one of my favorite hobbies - it's extremely rewarding even when the tips aren't coming in.

    • For anyone studying the English language...what the Musician is saying in the form of narrative role or describing his life...Can been interpreted as "Poem"...
GCSE students learn from this.... The musician can actually publish this piece, if he has not done so, yet, as Poem and he would make mint...

    • Summing up the street Musician...
This is how kings and queens were treated and lived back in the days. People would gather for themselves as well as for their kings and queens. (keeping in mind that, they often pass at the end of their errands )( Moreover, "people coming up and laying gifts at his feet" this is a life of a Royal...... this is why i love current as you can learn and tell the truth without thinking about offending anyone...!!!...

    • This story is inspiring. I think it's amazing that people like him, every day, get out there and do something that makes people feel good, even if they aren't stopping to tip you, or look at you. Everybody, in one way or another is affected by music. Because, music really is the most beautiful, natural, long-lived art that exists.

    • I used to check out David McGee down at the Farmer's Market as often as possible.
      He's terrific.
Nice to see him again, still doing what he loves.

    • Great story. He shows lot of commitment to something he loves. Reminds me of the janitor in Calfornia that has surfed every day for the last 30 some years. It would have been nice if the whole thing wasn't a commercial for the new jamie foxx movie.
