Forgive me if I'm wrong, but this movie's already been released overseas hasn't it? Couldn't he have just imported a copy distributed to the news networks over across the ocean?

I got with the idea that the movie sucked and Fox was emberassed. I doubt he would have been fired if it had gotten a kick ass review.

The really dumb part about it though is that he reviewed a leaked movie FROM HIS OWN COMPANY. Seriously, WTF; you obviously were going to get first dibs on reviewing it.

I think he might be giving them a chance to save their asses by reviewing this before someone puts it out. The movie in it's current state (despite finishing touches) is a total POS. The story line is a mess, the characters are weak and shallow and the adherence to the original stories is so pathetically weak as to totally turn off all but the most ardent of fans.
There's nothing wrong with this film that couldn't be fixed with a minor rewrite and a few hundred hours of reshoots. :)
If you are a fan of the movies you might like it. If you are fan of the original characters and story lines from the books you are going to be so mad you won't like what you see.
Someone should tell Roger Ailes that his big summer blockbuster is crappola and he just burned $100 million for half a story with the wrong presentation and weak, lazy story development.
Gee, I guess I did an illegal review too. Good thing I don;'t work for Fox huh?

hahaha...what a dumb-ass. rough cuts are unbearable to watch anyways, wait for the finished product with the final audio and effects.

I disagree. I think rough cuts are a great way to see the development of a film and how minor changes can have big repercussions in the films overall plotline.

How can you steal something you never have in your possession?
Is watching parts of a football game on a tv at the electronics store stealing?

It should be illegal to take something that is not yours. But to watch a movie, or anything for that matter, online should not be a CRIME. However, watching this movie IS. It's a bad film.
This guy was looking for press. He had to know the company wouldn't condone this type of thing.
I really have no sympathies for him. I think he planned it all to go down like this.
PS-to those who sneak a peek and post the most, keep 'em coming. I dig previewing the rough versions. It helps me decide which movie to drop $100 on when taking the family to the theatre. I can avoid all the bad movies, cover the little ones eyes/ears at the bad parts and scare the little lady at the perfect moments as if I had seen the movie before...which I had. lol

For someone to review a movie that he obtained illegally is downright hilarious to me. He cannot be a very intelligent man if to him that made sense. On the other hand if he was going for the hip fresh "Hey look at me I am doing what millions of other people do" then he wanted to gain some street cred as being the guy who reviewed a movie before it came out. Then it makes perfect sense.

I honestly don't see the big deal. I bet fox is only pissed because the movie sucked and he probably said that it did. Now their all like "arghghghg you can't do that" they need that hype for a month so people will go see it, even though it most likely sucks, like most modern theater

People like you really need to get over yourselves. All this "most likely sucks" talk is laughable. You're as bad as the critic (soon-to-be-fired because he lacks the integrity to actually wait until a polished copy is released by the studio). How can you make this kind of commentary about something you have never seen? Come on. Grow up.

I can honestly say that it will suck.Wolverine brought to you by the same people that brought you Max Payne. This man might not have seen it but the story is terrible and they had to reshoot everything. Fox even got into a legal battle over the release of the Watchmen so it wouldn't be in theatres the same time as this terrible movie. A lot of nerds threatened that if they pursued legal action they'd release the pirated movie online. Since then Fox let go of the watchmen legal battle and reshot almost all of the damn movie.

Well why the hell would you review an illegal, unlicensed movie on a company website. How he didn't see this coming is beyond me.

Another important thing: he has yet to be "fired."
So far, it's all been an internal matter. But as of later today, Friedman'll likely be on the outs.
