t has been a long time since we have heard anything regarding this new X-Men: First Class movie being written for FOX by Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz. We have a little update for you today that comes from producer Lauren Shuler Donner who produced the first three X-Men movies, and the upcoming Wolverine flick. So she knows exactly what is going on with the X-Men franchise, she is in the trenches and here is what she says about X-Men: First Class:
“It is the first class of Xavier’s school, way back when, so it’s young Scott, young Jean, young Beast and that’ll be really fun. I think (the plan) is to follow some of the characters into their own stories, and weave them back into the X-Men world. And hopefully First Class will become its own franchise and we can follow them as they grow up.”

What about Angel and Iceman? Are they sticking to the current franchise's depiction of them being much younger?

I think this could be cool. I wonder what story lines they will go with. As long as they get young, hot actors and don't make the script garbage they could introduce a new generation to the O.G story!

I like the comic to movie thing. Most have been hits, I think one reason is that like myself most other viewers bought and collected comics as children. Your selling a product to young kids but the masses.
