With this week's Star Trek beginning an alternate timeline and Terminator Salvation's John Connor realizing the future isn't turning out like his mother told him, who’s to say time travel and tapestry timeline theory aren’t going to be the “get out of canonical jail free” card for the next wave of summer blow-em-ups?

Heh. I only clicked on the link because I saw the Primer chart. That movie was excellent. For a movie about time travel it was incredibly realistic as far as the DIY look of the machine, and the reaction of the people. Even the means of time travel seemed plausible.
