"I started watching [the show] in my trailer in India," Patel explains. "I see why the fan base is so big. It's got action but a lot of moral messages." He even admits that even though he's seven years older than Noah Ringer, seen just above, "[he] would knock me flat on my back" in a fight. This is all good news for fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender the TV show, as it's great to have someone who's a perfect fit for the role, both physically and as an actor (unlike the Dragonball movie). So far it looks like Ringer is a good fit, at least physically. As for whether he can act, that has yet to be seen.

I still think Dante Basco would have made a better prince (cuz he's cute and has the voice... literally). Crossing fingers and praying Shyamalan doesn't fuck this up big time.

Spoiler alert: He's not _really_ the *last* Airbender at all. What a twist?

Shyamalan stopped making horror movies after Signs.
I think he can handle a kids movie though.

i have a younger brother who adores this show. its truly one of the rare glimmers in children-tween media today. which is sad.
im glad shymalan is doing this. he's a reliable commercial director, that has kids of his own, and i even though it was panned, i enjoyed what he did for the most part on Lady in the Water. - 2 years ago

Perhaps the big twist ending of this one is that it doesn't suck.

Just deleted my post of this, didnt realise it was already up -- you beat me to it!
This movie looks like a lot of fun. I havent been to see a fantasy type flick since that one with Jackie Chan and Jet Li -- cant remember what that one was called though :S
I believe M. Night has some tricks up his sleeve for this one.

Curious. Shyamalan doesn't really have an eye for effects. That kid totally looks the part though, whiteness be damned.
