With the Cannes Film Festival in its final days, two films seem to be the strongest contenders for the festival's top Palme d'Or prize.
It's "The White Ribbon" vs. "A Prophet"
Ironically they both just got picked up by Sony Classics.

one critic said that since isabelle huppert was in two of hanake's films that it would seem like favoritism if the prize went to the white ribbon (personally i love all the movies i have seen by that director).
i am hoping enter the void wins it though since there is probably no film that is more uniquely its own thing in the competition. and i think gaspar noe is one of the best filmmakers working today.
