Night at the Museum 2 made more in the U.S box office over the Memorial Day weekend than the new Terminator film.

The film which stars Ben Stiller, is a follow-up to his 2006 film. The sequel took $70m (£44m) in the US and Canada between Friday and Monday.

Terminator Salvation however made only $53.8m (£33.9m) over the same period.
According Warner Bros, the futuristic action film has made a total of $67.2m (£42.4m) since opening in North American cinemas on Thursday.

It was still not enough to take it to the top of this week's box office countdown.
"I think people expected it to be number one because of that Terminator name alone," said Paul Dergarabedian of box office tracking firm Hollywood.com.
'Incredibly strong'
"If you look at it objectively though, it's a sci-fi action film that played to an older audience."
