Through education Dr. Steven C. Schlozman is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a lecturer at the Harvard School of Education. He is also an avid sci-fi and horror fan - and, apparently, the world's leading authority on the neurobiology of the living dead. He has even drafted a fake medical journal article on the zombie plague, which he calls Ataxic Neurodegenerative Satiety Deficiency Syndrome, or ANSD (the article has five authors: one living, three "deceased" and one "humanoid infected").

Hilarious I always wondered what details drives their inner behavior. It all seems so simple on the big screen.

I'm thinking SERIOUS vitamin D deficiency, 24...
I am more puzzled by the fact that zombies aren't a HAPPIER bunch. If their main source of food is BRRRAAAAAIIIINNNNSSS, you would think they would be chock full of those neurotransmitters and the "happy juice" that is supposedly produced in response to taking anti-depressants and mood elevators...
Of course, that is just another THEORY...I have found field testing to be rather a challenge -- especially when trying to control the size of sample populations. You may WANT to observe a sample of 5 zombies, but once you get two or three in one place, you are going to have several hundred on your hands moments later...

I have been waiting for commentary on zombie neurobiology for, like, ever. Cinema is so far ahead of science on this one. I await explanations on their skin conditions.
