Yeh, I've lost Celsius on the thing. Truthfully, I'm scared of what a spate of disaster movies would have done to my generation. The beer sales and the smoke in the air while we sat in the back yard and laughed would have been kinda scary.

    • Very apocalyptic, seems like a 'what could go wrong, will go wrong kind of movie. Should be very dramatic and exciting.

    • The special effects are always good in his films. The synthesizers playing orchestral music all the time beat spooky music in crummy alien films but are sooo overdone. The religious imagery of icons being fearfully, impotently destroyed is corny. But having the USS Kennedy founder on what appears to be the White House????gimme a break! I hope most viewers miss the significance and just get the very real message: goodby USA gov.! Also, the inevitable kid with the smartphone! Warms the heart, as the continental shelf slides away!

    • Holy crap! A Roland Emmerich movie where things explode! Wait...

lol Seriously though - Emmerich's movies are always fun, and good to watch on a big screen. They always seem to lose something on DVD though (unless you have a f***ing big telly).

    • Ok I have been very serious about understanding the predictions and prophecies of 2012 for years, but I will say this; I do not care how much nonsense is put into this film, it seems to be the next big hit, very much so incredible, magnificent and epic. Look forward to seeing it. And not only does it come off as one amazing film, but it is going through the main-stream media to raise awareness about 2012. I could not be happier.

    • So in 2012 the world will self-destruct because...? I don't even know what's occurring here that could explain these said events. Mother Earth sure is mighty pissed off that the Mayan Calender ended. Granted, I'm not expecting anything remotely realistic, it just looks a little ****ing ridiculous if you ask me.

    • It's sure to be a horrible movie, but I'd go see it because of the 2012 theme. Hopefully they will mention Terence McKenna in the movie. That would be sweet.

    • Yeah, they just predicted the end of their lunar calender...300 something odd years long...there can't be any horrible tsunamis or tornadoes. Instead, baby eating and virgin-sacrificing should be taking place! Tsk tsk.

    • it might be a 'fun' movie, if you like looney apocalypse types of movies.

I am hoping that 2012 is the apocalypse for Obama, that would make me happy.
