And by 'stretched the truth' I mean outright lied. Director of "Heathers" Michael Lehmann shut down that rumour once and for all in an interview with Movieline.
"I never thought it made sense to see a sequel to a movie which took place in a specific time and specific place and in which many of the characters got killed off." says Lehmann.
And everyone breathes a collective sigh of relief. Except Winona and Christian Slater, who'd probably been banking on the whole thing.
