While the original script duties were helmed by J. Michael Straczynski (he of Babylon 5 and The Changeling), World War Z author Max Brooks revealed that Matthew Michael Carnahan was now writing the film adaptation of his book.
Responsible for State of Play and The Kingdom, Carnahan is certainly a known talent. But also a talent perfect for--as the commenters on Fangoria say--"dumbing down" the story.
