First draft for 300 sequel is ready

Small, sandaled steps are being taken toward a "300" sequel.

Frank Miller recently completed a draft of the graphic novel that follows up his original tale, a book that would serve as the basis for a new Warner Bros.-Legendary Pictures project.

While Miller is still tweaking his version, the ball will soon rest in the court of studio, financing entity and producers (likely to include Gianni Nunnari's Hollywood Gang, Mark Canton' Atmosphere and Zack Snyder's Cruel & Unusual banners) to determine how easily, if at all, they can translate the story to the big screen.

    • I liked 300, it was a great movie. Moving and visual, visceral and tragic, triumphant and inspiring.

But a sequel? Even with FM at the helm, forgive me if I'm a bit skeptical. I'm going to go into this with low expectations so I won't be disappointed if it doesn't live up to the bar raised by the first.

    • Trust. After all Frank Miller is writing it...he is not in love with Hollywood...I believe Robert Rodriguez made a "very convincing"short of Sin City, so as to capture the Graphic-Live action style that won Frank Miller over to "Holly-Dollars"...and graced all who appreciate his gifted story telling style with a couple of great film adaptations.
Also no offense but I believe that although the "300" may have died in that battle. Not all Spartans did. The imdb synopsis ends thus: Concluding his tale before an audience of attentive Spartans, Dilios declares that the 120,000-strong Persian army that narrowly defeated 300 Spartans now faces 10,000 Spartans commanding 30,000 Greeks. Praising Leonidas's sacrifice, Dilios leads the assembled Greek army into a fierce charge against the Persian army, igniting the Battle of Plataea.

I do not know if the Battle of Plataea is the story FM is going to tell, but I do look Fwd to reading the graphic novel, seeing the movie, for it is my humble and worthless opinion that Zach Snyder, Frank Miller (true Artist) and all who work on their projects F*ckin' Rock!!!

Actually, not everyone died. Only 299 of the 300. One went back to tell the rest of Sparta what happened. This battle rallied the Greeks who eventually defeated a vastly superior military.

There are plenty of stories in this little saga.

Yea Theo's smoking hot wife was soooooo manly.

Why do people think a movie can cover in 90 minutes what most books can not cover in 1000s of pages? or a college class takes years to discuss?

Get real. It's the Persians who were the homos. That much is a fact.

    • 300 Was a terrible movie, with no plot or good character development. I walked away from that movie thinking it was one huge propaganda film to glorify war with the middle east. I just hope that there isn't a sequel. The only thing 300 had going for it was good graphics. If I want to see things mindlessly destroyed, but beautifully destroyed I'll play a video game.

what?! no character development? no plot? what do you call leonidis's wolf story from when he was a boy? what about the story behind his wife giving herself up while he was away? and the backstory of the corruption taking place in Sparta, im sure that was anti-arabic propaganda as well. 300 had nothing to do with craphics and CGI, it had to do with bringing a stunning tale to life.

No script, no cast, no crew, and no idea what the story is; but you think you can make a judgment about it?

How about we at least find out what the story is, and then lambast it?

    • The rest of the Persian ass kicking was just good fun action/adventure fare as well; HACK/SLASH---retrench-bridge building-boat ramming with more bottleneck issues-,,,,its ALL GOOD!
