Thirst is to vampire movies what Deep Throat was to porno. Since I have a modicum of expertise in the latter area, I have a degree of historical perspective I am happy to share.
In a world before the Internet, the only way a young gentleman might see a cinematic couple coupling was at a frat house pledge party, in the back room of a small store with blacked out windows or in a theater where the fashion de rigueur was rain coats.

I'm sure it's all arty and stuff, but the storyline sounds like it might have been heavily borrowed from the Buffy/Angel tv series. Or maybe Joss Whedon stole from an Emile Zola novel.
