The ultra-low budget "Colin", the zombie movie that cost just £45 to make using a camcorder, has been bought by distributer Kaleidoscope Entertainment.

Filmed in England and Wales and production lasted 18 months, Colin was directed by Marc Price, who also wrote, filmed and produce the movie. It is hoped it'll be on time for Halloween, although name of venues are yet to be released.

    • I saw some of this at the Edinburgh Film Festival and it does look fantastic. There is good atmosphere and the performances are really good. As jlichman says - the cost is irrelevant as long as the content is worth watching and this really is.

    • Clerks is ace. But even that cost like £16000. It must be really hard to make a movie for £45!!??
I think you could do a super-cheap film, but i think you'd need an absolutely fantastic story and acting to pull it off. I think a cheap film that connected with the audience emotionally could be successful. Clerks has this as well as humour which helps.
Zombie movies although I enjoy the odd one or two are a fairly formulaic format and are not known for their good stories or good acting and so not sure they'll pull it off. But if it isn't formulaic like chivideoguy says then it could be alright. And the story of a man becoming a zombie could have emotional resonance.

      agreed.

Plus I know you can make a movie for ridiculously cheap, but Im not buying that this was made for £45. Ive seen a lot of super cheap movies made and there are lots of little things that add up so Im sorry if I find this hard to believe. Even cheaply made student shorts cost more than this! The producers are obviously omitting things (lunches while shooting even if crew did pay for their own, transportation, services traded, lights, batteries, tapes, etc.) and just trying to push the cost as a selling point. Yes I support low budget films, but this movie shouldnt be pushed by its supposed price tag but rather its quality.
