My review of "Paper Heart". Yes, it's doofy. But it's honest doofy, which is okay by me.

msameck:
that was a really great point - that its refreshing to see a doc' in which the filmmakers aren't pretentiously questioning its interviewees for the sole reason of making them look stupid & fulfilling their own agenda, (that's why I'm pretty sure I would hate Religulous) I wish they would've used that part in the show.
anyways, congrats on the Fanboy Planet gig

Paper Heart: Should come with a paper bag for the inevitable vomit.
Unless you have a high tolerance for twee. And is-it-real-or-is-it-Memorex filmmaking. And...oh, just skip the movie and watch Cinemash.

My Review of Julie & Julia.
Recipe for a Summer Blockbuster:
INGREDIENTS:
5 tablespoons bankable actors/actresses (the more the better)
1 well-written script (optional)
1 cup conflict
2 cups resolution
1/2 teaspoon comedy
1/2 teaspoon romance
Pinch of feel goodDIRECTIONS:
On a screen, combine actors/actresses until great chemistry has formed between them. If you have added in one well-written script, but sure to combine thoroughly enough until an Oscar nomination has been received. Midway through baking, pour in the cup of conflict and let the mixture sit for twenty to twenty-five minutes. The longer, the more suspense will build up. Don't wait too long, though, to add in the 2 cups resolution, or there could be an overload of processing information. Add 1/2 teaspoon comedy and 1/2 romance to perfectly balance out recipe. Add pinch of feel good to taste.Cook for about 123 minutes and voila! A wonderful summer movie for all to see and enjoy. Serves between 120 to 465 people, depending on size of theatre.

Since you are soliciting reviews for Julie and Julia I thought I'd post a link to an article written by the REAL Julie Powell about her experiences with the movie being made, differences between Ephron's "Julie" and herself, and lessons learned since the film. Very cool!
