Ridley Scott is going back to the future, this time with Leonardio DiCaprio along for the ride.

Both will produce, with backing from Universal, an adaptation of Aldious Huxley's Brave New World. And both have the option to "eye" for their respective roles (Scott to direct, DiCaprio to star) but are unconfirmed as of now.

    • Agreed! Why is it that film, television, and theatre can't come up with any more original ideas? Everything is being adapted for the different media, and it sucks.

Stories that are written to be put to film work, because that is what it was meant for. And most often, novels aren't adapted in a way that retains the nuances and themes that you get from reading the text.

Lets hope this isn't another slaughtered adaptation, because I love the book.

    • I'm with mariachiquita, the book is a classic especially for those that have studied Sociology. Its got depth that I don't think would work well in a film.

Wasn't another one of Huxley's books made into a film? The Island?

Oh and the adaption of George Orwell's 1984 shows how a book that deals with socialogy can make a pretty boring film

    • That book is way too good to become a movie. Hollywood needs to think of their own ideas. There is no way they can make a movie even remotely close to the book.
