"There's something to say about such an absurd movie being played straight like this. There's the overly elaborate evil underwater lair. There's the awesomely huge and elaborate underground G.I. Joe bunker. There's the aircraft carrier prison (that's a prison within an aircraft carrier, not a jail for battleships). Not enough for ya? How about ninja-on-ninja battles? Okay we'll throw in flashbacks of kiddie ninja-on-ninja battles (everyone has to have a backstory afterall). And how about a dash of super suit shenanigans? Did they have these crazy machine gun toting, gravity defying suits on the toys in the '60s? Nothing like watching a couple of digitally rendered characters running through the Arc de Triumph and down the Champ-Élysées and jumping over rockets that would go on to destory crowded sidewalk cafes and occupied vehicles."
