Johnny Depp announces new ‘Pirates’ movie

I would like to see Mr. Depp play 'Jacob' in A Visit To Black Mountain by Joe Lewis. Given his age, his personal feel for the country, his love of people, yes he IS Jacob Moore.

they are all targetting the demographic re: 7 to 18, because that's where the buck is...gone are the days of amazing movies, songs that were sung by actual SINGERS, and not some galoot called L'il Turd...Johnny Depp has just joined the lucrative bandwagon...and will probably be unfortunately remembered as ONLY Jack Sparrow...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...

Remember when Depp was one of the best actors out there,... picked only deep, artistic or unique films,... and was inching his way into serious thespian history??? And now,... his face is on kids' folders, video games and toddler toys,... and he's doing sequels to a DisneyLand ride movie.
Out of all these Pirate films,... the last three have been complete garbage.

Nowadays,... it seems like actors, producers and studios have put artistic integrity aside, with $$$$ in its place.

he's such an incredible actor, and limitless characters he could play...Bugsy Seigel, or even Al Capone...instead of this same old fantasy genre...come on Clint, please save him...

now that's pretty disappointing from mr.depp.

This one is to provide wealth for his children's children.

hey, ZMZ, did you see primal fear, and he was amazing in the Painted Veil...

haven't seen Al Pacino, Robert de Niro OR Edward Norton for ages...and just fed up with all this tweeny claptrap...is Clint Eastwood the ONLY person putting out a decent movie nowadays...

didnt like the last movie,love the actor,hope somthing good will come out of this.

I hope kiera knightly's character doesn't spin off into something else again. And didn't the last one seem kind of final already? I guess it's not disney without a happy ending.

Ed Wood will probably still be better.
Yet, I'll still end up watching it because I can never turn down a Johnny Depp movie.

There are too many movies in this series!

Wow... I thought the first one was garbage. If the sequels are actually worse and worse I may watch the series out of a morbid curiosity. The only thing stopping me is the memory of the endless afternoon spent watching the first one for what felt like 6 hours.

i hope not those movies were terrible. but nooo cash in while you can hollywood cuz you know you're all going down the tubes cuz you all suck

I like the idea but it just might be one to many

It's like the Matrix. The first one was good and you went to all the sequals hoping that they would live up to the first film, but they just don't. They should have stopped after the second film. I can't believe that they are actually going to make a fourth one.

I just hope its a fresh solid story, not a trilogy again. hire neill blomkamp if you have to!

Oh, I'd watch Depp do a pirate movie no matter how many he makes. Any swashbuckler will do. Reminiscent of Flynn or Barrymore, the old, old black n' whites. Those vintage oldies.
Now him playing Tonto (stupid) hmmm ...I can't wait. He'll be fabulous. Who would be the Lone Ranger? Someone tall, thin, sits straight in the saddle and could play the straight man to Depp's Tonto..... hmmm.

I hated the last one. There is no real reason for another one.

Don't get me wrong I love the Pirates series but...this might be milking the franchise a little.

If I ever met Johnny Depp, I would kindly ask him to stay in character of Jack Sparrow for the entirety of our time. Just a little fantasy of mine :)

Somehow you can always tell when there will be a fallow up film! it was made somewhat clear in the last one there was another story to tell! The question now, is who the bad guys will be in this one Aliens perhaps?
