for a sec I thought I was going to be the only one who pointed out the mutants' resemblance to the Reapers from Blade II (in my haiku), but the whole shaky camera / edit technique resembled the cheap f/x used on Thirteen Ghosts

A review of Surrogates the movie, not The Surrogates the graphic novel. I haven't actually read the graphic novel, but it looks better than the film just from what I've seen on the internet. But it took seeing the film to know about the graphic novel. BTW, if this is from the director of T3:Rise of the Machines, why isn't Claire Danes in this movie?

Alternative story-line: Ving Rhames plays an ordinary, or not-so-ordinary, guy who happens to have a Surrogate and his surrogate is The Prophet characeter.
Or Alternative story-line: could have cast Rhames as Dr. Lionel Canter. Problem-solved. Better movie on so many levels. - 2 years ago

I agree with you. I went to see it yesterday and wish I could get my money back. Disappointed that many elements regarding morality and social issues were not taken deeper. Also, Bruce Willis did disappoint in his role. I would have been better off seeing District 9 again. It was the best sci fi movie this year. I say as well, don't waste your time seeing this.
