This is not an isolated incident. People like Woody Allen, R. Kelly and even Michael Jackson get away with despicable acts. Why? Because the public likes their movies or their music. Because people don't want to believe that someone with such a beautiful voice could do such a terrible thing.
The fact is, artistic ability does not equal moral integrity!
It's about time that all members of society be held accountable for their actions, regardless of fame or money. An artistically gifted pedophile is still a pedophile and should be punished as such. Period.

Is that the precedent you want to set? Rape a child, run away to another country and get off scott free? It doesn't matter how long ago it happened, the man needs to be held responsible for his actions, as should everyone who commits this kind of heinous crime against a child.

Oh, and also, nice job on the 1001st thread on the same subject matter on Current," if I am the 1001st person to post something about this, then there are at least 1000 others who think this is exactly the right place to "preach" about it. (And probably more than that.) I'm sorry you don't feel child rape is important enough to write about.
Oh, and about being "18 hours behind the times." Well I have a life, so I don't just sit in front of my computer bogging all day long.
