This movie is horrible with a pathetic story line and just filled with blood and guts. I'm surprised that there are even six parts to it. They need to start making real horror movies. Maybe take some hints from Stephen King movies....

I find this genre of movies just plain stupid.. The fact that they can make six of them and still have a hit speaks volumes about the people who actually pay to watch this crap...

I dont personally see the big deal witht he Saw movies, as far as extremity is concerned; as long as its rated-18, it should remain in regular theatres.

It is not censorship, really... They did not ban the film, they gave it an "X" rating. This is what is often called in legal circles "time, place, or manner" controls. In other words: Saw VI can be seen, and it can be shown to the public. The state (Spain, in this case) can restrict when, where, and how one cane show/see the film to allow the material to be viewed by those who want to view it without upsetting those who find the film disturbing. A film studio might complain that this reduces their profit, and the viewer might complain that it is a pain in the neck, but it is not censorship. Censorship is the banning of ideas being exchanged. If the movie, book, picture, speech, can be shared between people without the state stopping it, then that is not censorship. In the U.S. where the Constitutiuon grants free speech and "well-regulated" gun rights there are nonetheless many ways in which the "time, place, and manner" of speech or gun ownership are regulated. You cannot yell "fire" in a crowded theater, for example, (not the trime, place, or manner to do that).

Censor ship is B.S. even if you do it by ratings. Censorship is a way of taking away your choice and thus your freedom. if you're into an extremely small niche of "hmm how could i punish someone physically in the most creative and disgusting way possible for some perceived flaw?" if you're into watching that then yeah they're worth watching. no one has to see them, true, but i could figure out better ways of making myself physically sick like staring at roadkill or watching autopsy videos. like i said these things serve no real artistic purpose.
and you can bet dollars to pesos that someone, somewhere out there is sharpening his effing kill tools thinking about these movies. gross.

Consider it a blessing Spain that you don't have to see such a miserably pitiful movie. The franchise should have stopped VI movies ago!

It's really not. The movie is torture, and the bulls are tradition. Difference I think.

But the purpose of these Saw movies is essentially... gore. There's history behind The Running of the Bulls. What substance do these slasher infested movies hold? Just a small niche in movie culture... =\

I think people are desensitised these days , to seeing suffering and gore on screen . It must get more extreme to evoke the adrenalin sought after . If they had seen it in real life , it would not be so appealing . Perhaps they consider themselves lucky to have had such a life with little real gore and torture .

Spain is more enlightened. That sort of violence is far more offensive than sex. Spain is more lenient on sex.

The moral aspects is what makes Saw interesting. The blood and guts is second. I'm sure of that. There are plenty of other films one could see with worse.
Guess Europe isn't so liberal, after all. Oops.

The fact that they have to separate it shows that they view it differently.
Defiantly not liberal minded. It would just be in the same theater because it's just like any other movie.

waitaminiute... so it's moral if the killer somehow disagrees with the victim's perceived disregard for their own life? (i read the spoilers) that makes it all ok?

i beg to differ. dexter is a completely different premise. dexter does not kill the innocent. ever. the "saw" killer takes people out for some strange mental gymnastics of what he/she/it perceives to be the victim's disregard for their own life. completely different animal.

I love a good suspense movie but I still don't see the draw to these movies. My kids rent them and bring them home, I try to oblige and watch but to me it's just sensationalized blood and guts. If I want scared to death I'll go to A theme park and ride a high speed coaster.
I've seen enough blood and guts in my job, it bothers me people pay to go see this.
So I'm glad some one has found these 'let's see how bizarre I can be in torturing, maiming and mind f**king I can get" movies over the line! - 2 years ago

The Saw movies are without merit. I've seen horror movies that were terrifying that didn't have a single drop of blood in them. Injecting unecessary blood and gore into a movie is the directors admission that the storyline is worthless.
