Think about this - all respectable health organizations - inckuding the World Health Organization, Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, Health Canada, etc etc say vaccines are safe and effective. If someone had solid evidence to the contrary they would submit their findings to a reputable scientific journal. The journal would then send the evidence to experts in the field for a peer review. If the evidence passed this rigorous review and was pronounced sound, it would be published. This would stand the medical world on its head. It would be front page news around the globe. The researcher involved would probably get a Nobel prize for proving thousands of the best minds in medicine wrong.
Funny, this never happens. Because the anti vaccine people use half truths, exaggerations and twisted stats that do not stand up to even basic scrutiny. They only get published on the web and in a few silly magazines.
Is every major health agency on the face of the earth involved in a huge corporate conspuracy to sell vaccines? Not likely.
Are these agencies somehow unaware of solid literature that casts doubt on the safety and efficacy of vaccines? Not likely.
The same myths get recycled again and again. They should call this video "the Crackpot Myths About Vaccines".
People will get mad at me here. But let me challenge you. Find me ONE - that's right - just one - peer revewed article published in a respectable scientific journal that questions the safety or efficacy of vaccines. Hint - there aren't any. One was published in Britain many years ago, but the authors retracted it, saying their methodolgy had been flawed.
Now I don't mean silly online publications, utube videos or magazines with no credibility (favorite media for wackos). Lets see what the real truth is, shall we?

This has been done, the evidence takes years to get published, and the Big Pharma bribes doctors and FDA officials all the time. These generalizations do not apply to all, and there are hidden details, but in general what most of these drugs do for humanity can be done naturally . After 20 years of medical research I can see the light, and the truth aint pretty. People refuse to change their bad habits, and want that magic pill to fix them. The only cure is to change humans habits, and unfortunatly there is not a good vaccine for that.
Best of health to you and yours....

please do not listen to the paranoid under-informed hysterics of these people. as someone who's life has been made permanently difficult by the permanent effects of a childhood bout with polio, you do not ever want to turn your self or your loved ones away from the hard-won protections of vaccines that can mean the difference between a normal life and a very limited one. i remember kids dying from polio, it wasn't uncommon then.also remember that old truth....those who do not remember history are doomed to repeat it.

Before believing this check some facts, many states have outlawed the use of Thimerosal in children under the age of 3 years ago, and yet autism rates increased. Over a decade ago we switched the MMR vaccine to a killed vaccine, which greatly reduced the amount of antigen (remember we use antigen [wiki it] not actual organisms [the MD stating that we use organisms is wrong]) on the scale of approximately 30,000 units to 150 units, and autism rates continue to increase. Logic would state that if you remove the causal agent of an outcome, the outcome should decrease; this is not what we seeing with autism and vaccines.
Are Autism rates going up? Yes. Is it due to vaccines? All credible science and epidemiology says no. Have we stopped or decrease practices that this film states causes autism? Yes. And autism rates continue to clime. Logically, it's not the vaccine (see paragraph one). Maybe because we expanded the definition of autism over the last two decades to include many disease characteristics that it never did before? Or maybe there is something in the environment, but it isn't vaccines. And mumps, rubella, measles, polio and other vaccine preventable diseases kill.

Totally useless piece of non-scientific dribble. Parents are looking to blame someone for being stuck with a defective kid. The truth is the parent's genes are responsible.
http://www.sltrib.com/News/ci_13516284
"An international consortium of researchers, including three from the University of Utah, has discovered yet another genetic link to autism.Studying the genes of more than 1,000 families -- including 150 from Utah -- who have more than one person with the disorder, the researchers found a region on chromosome 5 that is strongly associated with autism, according to a study published Thursday in the journal Nature .
Not just one, but multiple rare mutations were found near a gene called semaphorin 5A (SEMA5A). It plays a role in the creation of a protein that is involved in the development of neurons."
As for the lies about mercury in vaccines:
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/booster_shots/2009/10/mercury-levels-not-higher-...
"The blood levels of mercury are similar in children who are developing normally and children with autism, researchers reported today, and do not appear to be contributing to developmental problems." - 2 years ago

Yes, facts... the most important being that those campaigining against vavacines are morons who do their best to contribute to the prevelance of preventable viruses and the resurgence of almost extict ones. You all deserve a group Darwin award. Congratulations!

There can always be better oversight. I want to know that the shot being given to my young daughter is necessary. I do not believe that everything the drug companies make is beneficial. Greed leads to all sorts of accidents. There are some people with no visible moral compass.

post hoc fallacy
The post hoc ergo propter hoc (after this therefore because of this) fallacy is based upon the mistaken notion that simply because one thing happens after another, the first event was a cause of the second event. Post hoc reasoning is the basis for many superstitions and erroneous beliefs.
Science works. Vaccines work. Don't buy the lie. Don't surrender to paranoid fantasies.

"FACT: Autism began by affecting 1 in 10,000
it now affects 1 in 166 -
a direct correlation to the rise in vaccines added to the schedule.
(most of which contained mercury)"There are MANY factors for the "rise" in Autism- rise in world population, better and more thorough diagnosis and the addition of "spectrum disorders" to that number. The idea that there is a direct correlation between vaccines and Autism is studied by scientists all over the world, but the majority of the research has failed to find a true link between vaccines and Autism. Some links:
http://wellness.blogs.time.com/2009/10/27/vaccine-war-autism-flu-and-science/
http://www.autismsciencefoundation.org/autismandvaccines.html
http://www.livescience.com/health/080905-bad-autism.html
Let me make this clear: Scientists and people in Autism/Developmental Disability fields DO NOT KNOW what causes Autism and there is no cure for it. The "correlation" between vaccines and Autism has yet to be proven.
This holds true for ADD and ADHD as well.

This has been common knowledge for years, but it is hard to get people to stop trusting their doctors. 2 weeks of nutrition doctors get in school, and how much on big pharma ? Keep up the good work and share the truth , doctors are good for diagnosis. You and your childrens health are YOUR responsibility, not your doctors.
Get A good diagnosis, then get a better solution than modern medicine can give us, which usually excludes Pharmaceuticals, and includes great diet, exercise, clean air, clean water, Alkaline Ionized Water if possible, and help our bodies heal themselves. Our Immune system is more powerful than any drug ever made for healing. Thats the ticket, and good work folks, keep up spreading the word !

FACT: some people know nothing of scientific facts. LOL
FACT:some facts can be misleading when taken out of context
For example a common fruit have more formaldehyde than ANY current vaccine and our own bodies produce formaldehyde produce it in larger quantities than vaccines.
" Vaccines contain formaldehyde. However, the chemical structure of the formaldehyde in vaccines is the same as that produced by our own bodies. It is used during the manufacturing process, but is diluted to remove it from the finished product, leaving only small or trace amounts. The total amount of formaldehyde in a finished product is far less than what is naturally found in the human body. http://antiantivax.flurf.net/#Other_Vaccine_AdditivesFACT people will invent things to fear when they do not see enough in their environment to fear
DO NOT TRUST PEOPLE WHO TRY TO MISLEAD YOU
FACT: !/2 truths are more DANGEOUS than total lies

skybluskyblue:
Kudos skybluskyblu! Here, Here! As a scientist in medical research, I cringe at the ridiculous "FACTS" thrown around by the anti-vaxers. We should continuously strive for increased safety in our medical products, but false information is very dangerous. Not vaccinating children is just foolish. I know the anti-vaxers are well-intentioned and looking out for their child's well-being, but they have gotten really bad information. Vaccine skeptics - I encourage pushing for evidence of drug safety, but please realize that the medical community is not trying to victimize you or your children. Treating disease is much more profitable than vaccinating. This is not about drug company profits. Vaccinations are a very effective medical step to public health. No medical treatment is without risk and research will never be 100% conclusive because humans present too many variables. However there are no good scientific studies that link vaccines to autism. I would caution parents concerned about vaccinations to give at least as much thought to well balanced nutrition and environmental toxins like lead. Keep searching for information. Keep pushing for improved safety, but when medical evidence overwhelmingly supports vaccines, it is time to look elsewhere for a cause. Autism is too serious an issue to continuously trivalize it with the vaccine-focused foolishness.

KNOW THE FACTS:
FACT: Autism began by affecting 1 in 10,000
it now affects 1 in 166 -
a direct correlation to the rise in vaccines added to the schedule.
(most of which contained mercury)FACT: The only cases of Polio in this country today are caused by the vaccine itself
FACT: Vaccines contain mercury, formaldehyde, aluminum, fetal rhesus monkey lung and kidney cells, chick embryo, and antifreeze.
FACT: The rise in autism, ADD, ADHD, diabetes, cancer and a whole spectrum of disorders rose dramatically in at the same rate and time as did multiple vaccines added to the schedule
FACT: In the 90’s the vaccine market had 14% annual growth
while drug sales had 8%. The global vaccine market
reached 6.5 billion and was expected to top 10 bil by 2010Eli Lilly produces stattera- a treatment for ADHD, disorder said to be caused by vaccines
FACT: Congressman Dan Burton discovered that some members
of the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices
that approve vaccines
• owned stock in the vaccine manufacturing firms
• owned patents for vaccines affected by their decisions
• sat on the Board of Drug companiesFACT: In the years 2000-2002 Eli Lilly gave $1.6 mil in
political contributions (80% to republicans, $226,000
went to the National Republic Senatorial Campaign run by Bill Frist)The major drug co’s contributed more than $30 mil to help elect allies to Congress
