    • (At this point in my life) I'm all for making profits if you put in hard work, but I cannot support making profits while PURPOSELY hurting people.

      But I agree pure capitalism in the US cannot work without governmental controls. For evidence of this visit the climate in which "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair was written. Yes this work is fiction, but it details a serious problem when companies are not forced to care about the working class.

      I think the problem of the world is the problem of corruption and an unwillingness to understand each other. If people really came with an open mind and heart to listen and learn from each other the world would be a different place.

      LOL but I readily admit I'm an idealist!

    • yeah too bad the United States doesn't put any where near as many children through high school as most developed nations, like it did when this video was produced. And thanks to capital'ism', the country and world is witnessing greed and ego manifest in all parts of our lives. Providing health care is debated over the sake of people having the right to make profit rather then have the government sway money away from unnecessary wars towards caring for its own people. If only Capital-ism could have worked as well as planned. Now its the festering problem that everyone has to deal with.

      Solution? Resource-based economy, which probably resembles socialism more then anything, but without the ruthless dictators. Sure no would make excessive profits, but there wouldnt be shortages and corruption at every step of the way.

    • Interesting view but the "ISMs" did not start with Obama. For evidence look at anything from The Patriot Act to the New Deal (to even further back).

      Also this cartoon is discussing an ideal and I doubt if this America ever really existed.
