You're taking money from the ones that work on movies that are not making the millions.
Whether you care or not...that is what you are doing.

CalgarC:
Music is less problematic than movies. Music the musician doesn't see that money via CDs. They see it in concerts. Those who work on the movie see profit from DVD sales as well as movie ticket sales.

Musicians see that money as there true fans show up and support them at shows and buy shirts and merch and throw money into 'feed the band -donation buckets'...

seems to me if there is such a problem the industry should change their business model. what are they really selling anyway? once i've already seen a movie the dvd becomes a useless shiny piece of plastic.
besides, why should i limit my exposure to the arts just because i cant afford to buy every cd i like and go see every movie?

So you work for free and don't ask for any money because why should you limit other's use of you just because they can't pay for your time?
(I edited my post above because it did not at all say what I meant to say.)

yeah you've got it, my 9-5 and the arts are basically the same thing.
i dont know, i figure art should be done for art's sake and not a paycheque, i see that as more of a bonus.
and i guess if you are going to look at art as a product to be sold filesharing has changed the way people get their music and see movies but nothing has changed on the selling end. its all companies seeing artists as dollar signs, and thats why when i download i dont feel so bad, because the laws only exist to protect the ceo's wallets. plus whenever an artist i like comes to my area, i go to the show, buy merch and support the artist themselves.
meh, maybe you're just bitter because you are missing out on all the stuff you havent paid for yet (-=

You just said your hard work is more important than any artist. Their hard work is worth stealing. You belittle artist.

you belittle english. i wasnt saying anything like that at all. a job is a job, art is art, if you drew a venn diagram there would be some overlap but not all art is created for the purpose of making money.

They can't find Osama Bin Laden, they can't arrest Bush and Cheney for war crimes, but they can find and arrest the guy who uploaded X-Men Legends: Wolverine onto the internet for free downloads.
Does anyone else see the problem here?
Next, they'll arrest people who WATCH the download for free...
