    • The thing that confuses me most about Iron Man in his comics is that his suit has all of the muscles that he does. A bit unnecessary, but if it turns the ladies on, go for it...

Well,....on a practical level,...characters are drawn in a style that reflects the prevailing notions of what a "superhero" is supposed to look like. That leads to a 60's + era Ironman who still looks somewhat like the classic "hero-strongman-anatomy-lesson in tights". (The very very first appearances,...the armour looked like armour. ) The evolution has come full circle,....back to armour that looks like armour.

The "geekery" of the thing,.....is that the armour of the late 60's was actually rationalized as being a higher level of technology than its later incarnations. For a while there, what he actually had was what amounts to a nanotech body suit with both super efficient conductivity AND insulating properties.O,....and lets not forget the DIRECT neural interface. -----BUT REALLY,....Ironman has always been scripted from a "What kewl stuff do we want him to do"? standpoint. Then you get the best Startrektech rationalization the writers can come up with

      Aint it coooooooool!
