Fey and The King of Rhymes

alsalamano
While working as a waiter in NYC I overheard some guests (tourists) commenting that, because they had not seen any, there are no more homeless people in New York anymore. This reminded me of when I lived in Waikiki and would go on pre-dawn runs. Homeless people were everywhere, but once the sun rose the cops arrived and woke them, then proceeded to kick them off the street. The tourists never saw the homeless. It made me think of how we try not to see the homeless, and that day at work, overhearing the tourists, I thought of this again. The next day I befriended two homeless people who I pass everyday on my way to work. Later, I returned with a camera and they agreed to let me film them while answering some questions regarding their lifestyle. This is what came of that meeting..
