Though he directed only a handful of films, there is no denying that John Hughes had a significant impact on the generation which came of age in the 1980’s. His abrupt death of a heart attack in the summer of 2009 prompted more than a few reflections on what his teen sagas had meant to the hordes of misfit kids who never quite felt a part of the mix.
Unfortunately, his legacy is ill-served by the documentary feature “Don’t You Forget About Me,” a well-intentioned but misguided tribute to the writer/director and his works.
