The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
Fantastic acting, but difficult to get into and connect with such an offbeat... everything...Also Verne Troyer's with his largest acting role to date - tall order, and he kinda fell short...

Review for The White Ribbon. Go out and get Level 1: German from Rosetta Stone and kick some puppies; you'll get a similar effect.

So Lovely Bones (book and movie) was boring, boring, boring. If going to heaven means being stuck in that Lisa Frank trapper-keeper nightmare I will gladly skip it. Boringness of movie didn't stop me from going off a little on how great Peter Jackson is though. His mega-zoom moments of brilliance came through intact.
Sorry I talk so slow. Apparently I am a golem made of syrup.

Another review (hey, I had the time) this time of Terry Gilliam's "Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus, which isn't as much fun to say - or watch -as you would think. I ramble a bit...but I was THAT disappointed.

My review for The Lovely Bones.....it become quite a long rant after a while, there was just so much to say! I think I could talk for hours about what did and didn't work on this one. So this has some internal cuts, I hope they aren't too close.
Happy New Year, Rotten Tomatoes!! To BETTER movies in 2010! *raises glass of egg nog*

Review of the “The White Ribbon,” A film that is mysterious, ruthless, and wrapped in guilt. A fairly quiet and reserved for a film that depicts a mentally handicapped child being tortured until blindness and a young girl having her virginity stolen by her own father. Black, white, and beautiful to look at...all though sometimes hard to stomach.

My review of "The Lovely Bones" recorded on Jan.1, 2010. In watching it back, I notice that at one point I say "has" when it would have been grammatically correct to say "have." I would blame this on being hungover, except that I was home with my wife and son on New Year's Eve, completely sober. It is just a dumb mistake from somebody who was an English major and really, really ought to know better.

Oh god, I am so guilty of that on a regular basis. Not an english major but a communication major should know better too.

Having absolutely no access to these movies and visiting people means no review from me this week. (For the first time since I started.) I'm looking forward to getting back into it next week.
