Avatar’s Black Spot:”black Lung” Rating for Promoting Smoking | Cinemaroll

In the midst of achieving the shattering records out there, Avatar was given a “black lung” rating for delivering pro-smoking messages. Apparently, Dr. Grace Augustine’s character played by Ms. Weaver involving a controversial issue when she was seen smoking a cigarette in several scenes of 3D Avatar movie while attempting to save the Pandora planet in the 22nd century.

    • phukna you have a very good point there

      but to say that is promotes smoking is fucking ridculas just watch day breakers every vampire smokes every one of them and if you watch the movie only the humans dont i have not seen the Avatar movie but if it is one scene than it dosnt really matter does it????? Fucking iam hating the culture of today every one has to bitch about everything

    • i took that to be a 'hey i'm fighting evil here give me a cig' type lesser of evils moment. but i agree that with children watching by the millions, and her being a hero... it was a poor choice in the midst of many good messages. all i can say is parents should promptly address the 'why smoking is bad' issue after the film. but really, kids playing grand theft auto bothers me more.
