BIG in 2010: The Best Movie Bets This Year

Already saw 'Avatar'? You won't have to wait long for Hollywood to deliver the next big blockbuster smash.

That should come as early as March, with the release of Tim Burton's deliciously weird take on 'Alice in Wonderland' starring Johnny Depp. Until then we have potential hits like the family adventure 'Percy Jackson,' the star-studded rom-com 'Valentine's Day' and the Martin Scorsese-directed thriller 'Shutter Island.'

    • Tim Burton should not call his film Alice in Wonderland. Most of what is in the film is from Through the Looking Glass. Also, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum look ridiculous in a not good kind of way. I'm a little ticked at this re-imagining. SyFy's Alice was amazing, and the way a re-imagining should be done.

    • The Tim Burton "Alice in Wonderland" movie MIGHT just be what it takes to get me into a theater for the first time in a little over a decade! Tim Burton's directing style & weird ways of doing a lot of things has always really been something I've admired! & Johny Depp is just one of the best actors around these days! & though Avatar seems to have a visual appeal to it, it really looks to me to be a tad bit boring!

    • Shutter island looks like the most mediocre film scorsese will ever make. I'm starting to agree with Tarantino about retiring when you're 50. The Departed hit the scorcese nostalgia button for me though..

    • Alice in Wonderland is sure to be a Johnny Depp classic, as the character is perfect for him. TIm Burton is a genius... but yes, I truly cannot wait for Shutter Island as Martin Scorsese has yet to disappoint me. And when they wrote in a Scorsese film into Entourage I was so upset they didn't use the production in the storyline.
