Is George Lucas preparing a return of 'Star Wars' in 3D?

I'm curious why everyone thinks these are going to be NEW movies? There were rumours of the original trilogy being released in 3-D back when Revenge of the Sith came out.

Great, another crappy, poorly scripted, money making venture for George Lucas. Maybe he can get another terrible actor to play the lead role::::::sigh::::::::when does it start?

Why does he have to continue to rape the warm memories of my childhood over and over. Thank god he didn't have anything to do with Back To The Future so that can be preserved unf***ed for future generations to enjoy untouched.

The saddest thing is if he re-releases the original starwars films in 3D I will go and see them like a mug. Whilst he sits on his golden throne rubbing himself in money.

these guy needs to go away, make another "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" in 4D

if it is anything close to the offerings of his horrible movies known as episode 1,2 and 3

the WHOLE screwing with the original films, sorry but... damn you trashed a classic... and ya i know its your film and your idea that nothing is ever finish only abandoned... some things are better off left that way....

i mean ok, he did redeem himself some what we he pulled his mittens off the cartoons and cgi shows. and let others run them... they turned out very well

but im sorry unless he has some of that old magic tucked up under his hat... i hope he stays on the sidelines and sticks to smiling and waving.

If we HAVE to, I'd much rather see 2001: A Space Odyssey in 3D. By now, doesn't Star Wars hold some kind of record as the most re-released film ever?

if he's willing to do episodes 7, 8, and 9 and keep them as dark as the stories were i'm totally down.

One condition: he does NOT write it.

maybe if they took out a bulk of the extra footage from the re-releases like the Jabba scene in Star Wars and Guido firing first
