Is ‘Valentine’s Day’ a rip off of ‘Love Actually?’

knowandtell
Anybody excited for the boldface cast rom-com Valentine’s Day in theaters Friday? Here’s the premise: The lives of ten people in Los Angeles intersect on Valentine’s Day.

TRANSLATION: It’s really Love Actually without the charming accents! They’ve subbed Valentine’s Day for Christmas, and LA for London. And mumbler Hugh Grant for mumbler Bradley Cooper. They didn’t even bother to change up the sans-serif thin font next to the bold font typeface treatment!

    • Total ripoff...and done SO poorly. I went home after VD (!) and watched Love Actually. They even ripped off exact elements like a guy playing guitar naked, the chase through the airport, look closely, a guy juggling oranges in the background! Jeez, what a mess VD was. and what a waste of a cast! Garry Marshall should be ashamed of himself.

    • Funny - my friends and I were just discussing this today. But in "Love Actually," I wasn't thinking, "GET TO THE END FASTER."

    • Aren't all movies, in some way, a "rip off" of a previous one? If not a previous movie, some work of fiction or whatever. I don't do romantic comedies, but from the little of them I've seen, they all strike me as being the same thing only with actors of a different geographical origin.
