Ok lets face the facts. "Alice in Wonderland" was a trip movie. Meaning it was made for people to take drugs, and trip balls while watching it. As entertaining as that is, it does not deserve awards for it.
On another note. Depp's upcoming film "Rango" also looks like a trip movie. Maybe because Depp's character (Rango) is wearing the same shirt Depp wore when he portrayed the good doctor Thompson in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas".

How is this film exactly "Alice in Wonderland" considering that the story doesn't resemble either two books (or poem) in anyway? I can understand the need to tamper a bit to make a story out of an episodic work in order to make it film-able but to dress it up like Lord of the Rings or Chronicles of Narnia with an epic fight to save Wonderland is totally out of character.
Anyway, I hope no one out there with a book report on Alice in Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass watched this movie instead and based their report on it.

LOL, what is it with Johnny Depp and all these "gay" looking characters he likes to play??

Depp plays very eccentric characters and he plays them exceptionally well. That may just be his forte as an actor. And, it is apparent from your comment that you believe that all gay people are eccentric misfits like The Mad Hatter and Edward Scissorhands. I think you should look into getting that problem fixed, "LOL".

You know, I went in not expecting much but walked away happy. The 3D felt kinda like a gimmick. I'm still not sure about the dragon slayer climax I have mixed feelings. The characters were lovely but it needed more story I'm sure.

Yep. It's definitely a soulless candybar that tries to explode in your mouth, but merely ends up breathing heavily over it's own reflection. Poop on you, Tim Burton!
