Lisa Edwards' phone number appeared briefly on a phone used by the character Ricky in an episode of Eastenders. She then got around 2,800 messages, which she describes some being abusive (surely, she didn't read all 2,800?). Since the incident the BBC have apologised to the woman about the mistake.

From what I have read of this story it appears that the Sun publishing the number for all to see did more damage than the actual TV programme displaying the image for some 4 seconds. The newspaper also breeched her privacy.
