For all of its bluster and loud, metallic bombast, not much of great interest transpires in the inevitable “Iron Man” sequel. Though the script is brims with brisk repartee, jauntily delivered by an A-list troop of players, like its lead character Tony Stark, the film has a faulty ticker in need of a new element.
Perhaps the most problematic point stems from the employment of Mickey Rourke as the villainous and liberally tattooed physicist Ivan Vanko. Rourke bristles with such compelling malevolent energy, that the film flounders in his frequent absences.
