The Thai film "Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives" (Yep, that is the full title) has won the 2010 Palme d'Or at the close of the Cannes Film Festival.

Directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, the film tells a story of a dying man who gets a visit from his late wife and missing son. "Another Year" was the favourite to win at the festival, but went home empty handed. Other winners included Juliette Binoche winning Best Actress for "Copie Conforme", "Poetry" won best screenplay and Javier Bardem & Elio Germano shared the best actor award.
