Dennis Hopper was a great actor and a great man. He lost his battle with cancer. We hope to find a cure for cancer some day via gene therapy or nanomedicine.

RIP Dennis. His turn as Frank in Blue Velvet was in a class of its own and will go down in history as a landmark performance of male psychopathology. And he told David Lynch he WAS Frank in order to get the role! Must have been a rough ride Dennis! Peace.

Look, I'm being honest as a health care person would tell you. A life of his drug/ETOL abuse shortened his life. He was very lucky to get to this age.
Don't be so quick to honor these guys. Their just actors...look at David Crosby..(and I have a lot of their albums, love their music)..I still seethe that he got a new liver to ruin when some poor slub lost out and died because he didn't get the liver to replace his medically diseased one. Money talks...I've seen it.
The poor kid in PGH. that was shot by some one that thought he was the kid that cheated a drug dealer. He wasn't! He was doing really well, we were getting him at the rehab hospital within days of the Governor needing a lung, heart, liver transplant. Guess what? The poor kid matched the governor's blood type! Poor boy.....guess who lived? not the poor, innocent kid.... - 1 year ago

dude this is an all time classic. Mr. Worley (Hopper) dies but he wins this final battle. He's looks death in the face, and tells Vincent Cacattio to fuck off and go to hell. He knew that he was going to die, yet he refuses to give up his son, or beg, and somehow musters up the courage to get a final insulting word of truth in.
Dennis Hopper aka, "the Easy Rider" is immortal.
"Can I have one of those Chesterfields now" ? The moment of truth.

Every man that hasn't lived like that will probably have the opportunity to die like that. Some of us just don't have the faith and trust in being courageous because we've allowed fear to consume us for so long. We're scared to death to believe in anything else. He was doing the right thing so he had nothing to fear.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his (son) friends.
This is an all time classic.

When you compare the photo on the left with the one on the right
you can't help but see how fragile physical life is in it's mortality. I
make it a practice to eat marine fish on a regular weekly schedule.
It's guartanteed to make you live to be so old you'd be too pooped
to fart. Because if you ever get into trouble with any vital life preserving
body process-something a cancer is guaranteed to fuck up-it will be
too late then to start storing up oil soluable vitimins. Most people follow
what most other people follow-eating land animals loaded with saturated
fat. So they die of cancer related to it, as Jackie Gleason did. Saturated
fat is a killer because it raises the LDL leverls in the blood, causing
artery hardening & blockage which is begging for a stoke & heart attack.
Fish, by comparison, are much whiter, lighter, and don't cause the inflamation
red meat does. And they contain all the oil soluable vitamins A,D,E,K.,
and none of the killers. They make your platelets as slippery as super
lublicated ball bearings, so you don't clot without injury. I realize it's
difficult for most people to make the connection between prostate cancer
and the eating of land meat, but all vegans know it's there. If people
are smart, they'd save having land animal meat for Sunday dinner. If
they were self disciplined, and as kind as they were smart, they'd never
have it at all. Look at people who have never had the taste of blood. They
never miss it. I won't pretend to be other than a hypocrit. I still have
cravings because I was raised with it. But I haven't bought it in years.
And I won't support the slavery of animals any more for an early grave. - 1 year ago

I'm glad it's helped you hombre. Humans have biologicaly evolved
from our original hominid ancestors for over a million years to benefit
from a diet of mostly fresh raw fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes,
and fish as they did. It's only in the past 10,000 years that humans have
eaten meat. Evolution of an anatomy requires at least a million years, and
can only function well the way it was designed to. If all people knew of the
massive health problems eating meat 1-3 times a day gives them, they'd
associate the way it smells being cooked doesn't equate to the way they
feel afterward. The tired feeling after eating saturated fat comes from it
choking off oxygen to the tissues, making the arteriole valves malfunction.
It's just safer to eat fish. That way an older person won't look emaciated like
Dennis Hopper and Paul Newman did. Saw of picture of Christopher Reeve
emaciated too, and it breaks my heart to see them appear emaciated like that. - 1 year ago

makes perfect sense to me, but it really makes me wonder if someone is really trying to sabotage us all with that crap that's happening down in the Gulf as we speak. The price of fish will go off the meter later on this summer. I'm actually stocking my freezer with fish right now.
Interesting relation. How many more people will continue to die. Human beings must starting focusing on " our willingness to grow and stay alive" as oppose to this care free, money hording, happy-go-lucky mindset that Americans have become addict to.
