Last night BAFTA handed out it's 2010 television awards to this years hopefuls, here are just some of the results (full list in the link)
BAFTA stated the Performance in a Comedy Role is a new category for the awards and both female and male trophies were picked up by The Thick of It by the actors Rebecca Front and Peter Capaldi. The comedy series also won best Situation Comedy.
Simon Cowell went away with the Special Award for changing the entertainment landscape and the show Britian's Got Talent won best Entertainment programme.
Leading actor was picked up by Kenneth Branagh for Wallander. Julie Walters won Leading Actress for Mo, though she was nominated in the same category for a different role in A Short Stay in Switzerland.
Other shows to go away with awards were, Mad Men, Inbetweeners, Misfits, Virtual Revolution etc
