    • ill skip my personal comments but anyone of these could have been on that list.

      ghost in the shell,
      Innocence: Ghost in the Shell
      equilibrium
      one hour photo
      grave of the fireflys
      brotherhood of the wolf
      roller ball (1975)
      1984
      animal farm
      jacob's ladder
      Pi
      V for Vendetta
      dark city
      anything from kubrick
      what dreams may come
      2012

this list could go on, but those are possible additions, some of them are sub par movies, a few could even be called B movies, but it all depends on what you are looking for in a film. and honestly teaching a class on Philosophy with movies, is a really lack luster way to go about it, use them as additions,

    • I would add the movie " The Fountain " starring Racheal Weitz
and Hugh Jackman, and also " the Snake King " starring Jane
Heitmeyer and Stephen Baldwin. It explores the Big Picture
category in one humongously mind blowing manner. As the
sages claim. Life is immortal. Love is eternal. That's a Bhuddist
theme, by the way. The river of life was around before the
female romance novel themes began to capitalize on it as
though they had invented it. Just sayin' Philosophy was my
minor in college, Psychology, my major. But Cinema teaches
you things you would never learn in school. No doubt one of
the primary reasons why the Cinema business eclipses them.

    • Peter Seller's Being There was both hilarious and thought-provoking; a great movie! The Razor's Edge is an interesting story, but I prefer the 1946 version with Tyrone Power.

    • I would add "the ballad of Narayama" and "Logan's run" . These movies ponder human resources consumption and human nature .
