Is it possible to separate the creator from his creation?
It is a question I’ve asked often of late, most recently staring at the prospect of reviewing the DVD release of “The Ghost Writer.” Why, you might ask, is this film different from all other films? Because it was co-written and directed by Roman Polanski.
Polanski (“Rosemary’s Baby,” “Chinatown” and “The Pianist”) is obviously an extremely talented director. But he’s also the guy who got a 13-year-old drunk and high and then had sex with her. And he never paid the price.
