this man gives me the heebie-jeebies... that cult really messed with his head, i keep coming back to the same question while i watch and read reviews for the film, what is he thinking? and then at the same time my mind floats back to the video where he was rapping on stage and fell completely off of it. i kind of want to see this, just because i think its going to be the trainwreck of a life that i need to watch to make myself feel a little better.

Phoenix delivers a vigorous and whole-hearted performance, but it isn’t in service of an idea any more mature than ‘look at me, look at me, is everybody looking at me?’
