Cameras followed Joaquin into clubs he was planning to rap in. During the entertainment news season, the some questioned if the breakdown was real or a stunt for a mockumentry.
However, now Casey Affleck admitted the film was a stunt and stated the film is the "performance of his career" when talking about Joaquin Phoenixs' role.
"Still, he acknowledged that Mr. Letterman was not in on the joke when Mr. Phoenix, on Feb. 11, 2009, seemed to implode his own career by showing up in character as a mumbling, aimless star gone wrong. "-The Huff
So is this film just a comedy stunt like the Borat films, or will it still be seen as a film about our obsession with watching someone famous fall?
