Stylish and exceedingly handsome, the new British adaptation of the Charlotte Bronte chestnut “Jane Eyre” has the emphatic scent of quality goods. Foregoing some of the more overwrought atmospherics associated with prior treatments of Bronte sister material, this version nonetheless retains an earnest emotional intensity and distinguishes itself mostly by a considerably more naturalistic spirit and manner than earlier Eyres.
