The brawny alien invasion actioner Battle: Los Angeles topped the weekend box office with a very healthy $36 million. Following on the heels of Rango’s $38 million finish last week, B:LA’s numbers suggest that filmgoers have shaken off the winter chill. You know that magnificent odor filling your nostrils? That’s summer coming and the incredibly loud and gloriously mindless movies that come with it.
