Movie Review: Disney's 'Prom' sweetly channels the spirit of John Hughes

Being a teenager in this sexually charged age of ‘Glee’ and MTV’s ‘Skins’ has some parents terrified of what’s to become of their precious angels. So, credit Disney for turning back time to deliver an image of wholesome youths fretting about first love, going to college, who to ask to the big dance and other woes about a post-high school future. And while ‘Prom’ will be viewed as a too-sanitized vision of adolescence, what is wrong with that? If anything, it is the perfect date pic for adult Gen X-‘ers seeking to relive their John Hughes heyday, complete with an earnest cast and a rocking soundtrack.
