Britain bans airbrushed Julia Roberts make-up ad

UK authorities banned make up advertisement with actor Julia Roberts and Christy Turlington. They claimed that advertisement isn’t realistic and airbrushing were used. Two products made by L’Oreal’ Maybelline and Lancôme received complaints to Britain’s Advertising Standards Agency. L’Oreal explains that anti aging affects from the Eraser and Teint Miracle were scientifically proven and customers will receive pointed results. The advertisement was created in such way in order to underline qualities and effectiveness of products. ASA representative said "Pictures of flawless skin and super-slim bodies are all around, but they don't reflect reality."

It isn’t the first time when L’Oreal advertisement has fallen foul. In 2007 a TV advertisement of Telescopic mascara, featuring actor Penelope Cruz, was criticized for “failing to make clear she had been wearing false eyelashes.”
