Zeitgeist: Moving Forward (full length movie)

Kelly_Balthrop
This movie gives me hope. It portrays what I have been writing about with the imminent collapse of the world economy and offers a compelling solution. Recently the Venus Project and the Zeitgeist Movement have parted ways, though I'm not sure why.

This is the Official Online (Youtube) Release of "Zeitgeist: Moving Forward" by Peter Joseph. [30 subtitles ADDED!]

On Jan. 15th, 2011, "Zeitgeist: Moving Forward" was released theatrically to sold out crowds in 60 countries; 31 languages; 295 cities and 341 Venues. It has been noted as the largest non-profit independent film release in history.

A valid argument. The movement was actually started by Jacque Fresco with the Venus Project. The Zeitgeist Movement started as the activist arm of The Venus Project. Recently the Venus Project has broken all ties with the Zeitgeist movement. The reasons given for the split is that Robert Joseph started going rouge. He was making statement like those in the movie about conspiracy that Jacque was not consulted on and did not approve.

It's really unfortunate, because the whole message became tainted, by comments that had nothing to do with the message.

The real message: Technological advances are slowly replacing the worker. It has contributed a lot to this financial crisis. Ironically the technology that is coming is a miracle and will transform our world. Peter Diamadis has a book due out next month called Abundance that talks about the coming revolution. The statement that the film was trying to make is that if all labor is replaced by automation, no one will be working and able to buy the wealth of resources that will be available. The solution to that problem is a different economic system and a new economy called a Resource Based Economy.

Watch the video again and ignore all the conspiracy stuff and listen to the intended message. Or a better video produced by Jacque is here:

A question that I had was how would it really work from a nuts and bolts point of view, so I worked out the details and wrote about it here:

It's well worth the time Kenny. This is the only path forward I can see for our civilization to survive. It's sounds radical, but if you get your head around the end result, who wouldn't want to live in a world like this...besides the Koch brothers that is :)
