Whenever I read that something is being "hidden from us by the elites" I must roll my eyes with disgust and amusement. The elites are not hiding anything. All the information in the article is available to anybody with access to the internet or a library card.
Thus, I call this sort of malarkey "Conspiracy theory nonsense" - good for a laugh and nothing much more.

I'm careful of what I hear, see, speak or eat . They should have a monkey or ape that would say " eat no evil ".

Excellent article. I never knew this about the three monkeys. Shows some things we're taught are totally wrong. What else are they hiding from us?

but while we don't look see or hear evil, there is fauex evil on t.v. and the infotainment evil of so called news, while real evil goes unheeded. what then ghandi? evil walked up to him and shot him because he could not sense it? could not hear the falseness of his killer, assumed there was no evil to come his way? i also like the story of the three blind men touching an elephant and trying to figure out what it was. thanks for the history lesson very thought provoking

Vaxart got it exactly correct. Evil is a relatively modern concept. The phrase describes a method of transformation not through avoidance but through understanding. It's very ironic that through time it has come to mean pretty much the exact opposite. We must get past the idea of evil and bring light to everything we see, hear, and say. We can change things just by looking at them. We can also change things by hearing them. Finally we can also change things by speaking to them. This is an ancient road map of power to better improve our world. This can never be done by rejecting evil, because evil is defined by the society that is rejecting it, and thus strengthened (by rejecting evil we are creating evil). Rather we must realize the power within our senses and speech and use it to understand and transform things that may seem evil, but in reality simply are contrary to our views.

I appreciate the cultural/symbolic background and history !
However,....the conclusions drawn concerning the social media and art forms are erroneous ; "fantasy" and " artistic fiction " and other "products of IMAGINATION,....are NOT seeing, speaking, hearing "EVIL" at all.
All those things MUST have a basis in reality to BE evil,....things of imagination are JUST THAT,....things of imagination.
A soul could CONTEMPLATE the devil himself, and not touch upon evil.
CONCEPTS and the shadows of concept, are not IN AND OF THEMSELVES morally weighted. Only "reality" has weight.
Hmmm,.....this could be a very long discussion.

In Sanskrit - an ancient Indian divine language, older than Greek and Latin, which we westerners turn away our heads from accepting - there is no word for evil, they call it ignorance.
