“We’ve All Been There” is an acclaimed, inspiring short film directed by Australian filmmaker Nicholas Clifford, which just won top honors at Tropfest Australia 2013, the world’s biggest short-film festival. In the film, a struggling young waitress has to come up with $800 immediately or lose her house, while a flat tire leaves an older woman stranded in the middle of a desert. At the same time, an unemployed man desperately needs a job. All these stories are brought together as what goes around comes around and they impact each other in a way the three people could never have imagined.

This piece includes color photographs and the award-winning short film.

    • Touched my heart. There are really good people in this world, who help and ask for nothing in return. We're just exposed in the media to so much negativity, I think we sometimes forget or become despondent. I've had a few angels in my life and I try to do what I can to help others.

Thank you so very much Disembedded.

    • Thanks Leena, I really needed to watch this story before I went to bed. I'm in a valley right now.

My wife's car went down last month. I had to get her another one. We were sharing cars in Atlanta. That doesn't work too well here. I day that I got the tags in here car, my car went down. Water pump, timing belt and thermostat on a VW Phaeton. $2,200 bucks and the mortgage is due in a few days. February is a short month.

I pay my daughter's bills. She 's in college. It's the least that I can do for her. Come to find out she's been saving money for the past 3 years. She's got thousands saved. She told me tonight so she can pay her own car note this month. I wouldn't dare ask her for money. She's save it so she's earned it. She's only 22 years old. The fact that she can pay her own car note and insurance this month is a major relief for me. It sounds like a little but it's really a lot. I'll manage the rest.

      Everybody has been there.

You have an impressive daughter -- I sure didn't have thousands saved when I was 22! The other thing is the fact that who she is reflects well on the upbringing she had :-) -- you and her mother definitely deserve a pat on the back!

    • I needed to see this today....and everyday! Thanks, disembedded. This one struck close to home for me. We were on a road trip some years back. My husband and I were stranded in our vehicle A truck driver pulled over to help us. (we needed gas) He let us into his truck and asked what direction we were headed. He said he would CB another truck driver going our direction. We got to a gas station and filled a gas can. The CB'd truck driver pulled into the gas station we were at. He drove us back to our vehicle and even filled the gas tank for us. We tried to give both truck drivers money (we didn't have a lot) but neither were looking for money. All we could do was thank them both 100 times over. Both said they were just happy to help. My husband and I never forgot that day. It will stick with us forever. We always try to help people, too. It's how you give back. I loved this short film and the title. I thought the end was perfect. 2 good people who got help at the 11th hour. Loved it!
