Friday's Important News: New Rotten Tomatoes Show, Future Robin Hood and Mission: Impossible Fore!

It's a somber note after yesterday's tragic news about the death of John Hughes, but there's a brand new episode of the Rotten Tomatoes Show: Brett and Ellen, along with critics, comedians and Current users, review Funny People, Thirst and In The Loop. We also have Charlyne Yi's Five Favorite Films, take you inside Secret Government Programs and ask Are You Pleased?

There's also a haiku review for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, a new Trailer Time and a Weekend Peekend featuring our next three webcam callouts you could get $100 for seeing: G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Paper Heart and Julie & Julia--which Ellen just reviewed.

In other important news:

  • Mission: Impossible 4 can has writers. In other news, J.J. Abrams and Tom Cruise totally high-fived. [Variety]

  • Jeffrey Wells is getting his G.I. Joe percentages in order. Prove him wrong if you can. [HE]

  • From the producers of The Dark Knight and 300 comes...FUTURE ROBIN HOOD. WITH GUNS. [THR]

  • Once again, RAMPANT SPECULATION that Terrence Malick's Tree of Life (may) come out in '09. [ThePlaylist]
